One live, global market. Everyone trades Eggs (EGG) in the same economy. Prices move from real and simulated supply and demand, plus the behaviour of traders. You start in a training market, then get onboarded into the live market and keep going for as long as you stay compliant and solvent.
You are "the Employee" working for "The Company",the only institution left on Earth. The Company is the government, the producer, storage and logistics, the market operator, and the pension provider. There is no outside world. All value is in Company Credits (CR); the only commodity is Eggs (EGG). You sit in a small windowless office with access to the market.
Buy and sell eggs, store them in Company warehouses, lose them to spoilage or accidents, and react to market news, rumours and corporate announcements. The tone is cold, bureaucratic and impersonal,a "cog in the machine" kind of place.
Information comes through CRT monitors, dot-matrix printer bulletins and corporate announcements. The look is late 1990s corporate computing and industrial control systems, this company won't modernise; it makes do with what (barely) works. The story isn't a linear plot; it emerges from how players, the market and The Company interact.
You'll meet The Company itself, the onboarding IVR (automated voicemail), corporate bulletins, and NPC traders that act like whales, nervous retail traders, long-term holders and YOLO chasers. Lore also comes from "the Insider," who sends doctored floppy disks that make your thin client boot into a shell and drip-feed you text.
